Step Three Home When the boat is in the position where you will want it to be moored (about half way between the anchor and the shore) you press the release trigger on the device, and let it go over the side of the boat. By doing this, you have now secured the pulley to the anchor rope at that point.

As you continue toward the shore, the forward motion of the boat pulls the anchor rope from the boat, around the pulley and through the shackle.
